What are the key elements of the social security system in Turkey?

The social security system in Turkey is a system with social contributions in which both the social insurant and the employer are liable to pay premium to the insurance system. Also, in accordance with Social Security and General Health Insurance Law numbered 5510, the Government supports the system by ¼ of the invalidity, old age and survivor’s insurance that has been collected every month.

– Short term insurance brances; occupational accident, occupational illness, sickness and maternity

– Long term insurance branches; disability, old age and death

– General health insurance branches: primarily to protect the health of individuals and if there is a health risk, to cover the expenses and help in accordance with law.
