According to a renowned international tourist group, Türkiye will be rated fourth in the world among tourism destinations in 2022.
The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) estimates that 963 million people would travel in 2022, with a total spend of $1.1 trillion.
The Mediterranean was the most popular region, with 28 percent, while France hosted the most tourists in the world, with 80 million. Türkiye ranked fourth after the United States, with 50.5 million visitors.
According to the UNWTO study on global tourism data for 2022, global tourism mobility in 2022 would be 34% lower than in 2019. According to the survey, 963 million tourists would travel worldwide in 2022, with France, Spain, the United States, and Türkiye being the most popular destinations.
While the total worldwide tourism revenue in 2022 was stated as $1.1 trillion in the research, the average per capita tourist income was calculated to be $1,051. In terms of average per capita tourist income, Türkiye ranked eighth, with $816.
Sixty-seven percent of the world’s 963 million tourists favored Europe, while sixteen percent preferred America, ten percent preferred Asia, seven percent preferred the Middle East, and five percent selected Africa.
