According to Household Labour Force Survey; seasonally adjusted unemployed persons aged 15 years old and over decreased by 43 thousand to 3 million 654 thousand persons in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter. Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate occurred as 10.6% with 0.4 percentage point decrease. Unemployment rate was estimated 8.9% for men and 13.9% for women.
Seasonally adjusted employment rate realized as 47.7%
The number of seasonally adjusted employed persons increased by 765 thousand to 30 million 775 thousand persons in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter. Seasonally adjusted employment rate occurred as 47.7% with increase of 1.1 percentage points. In addition, this rate was 65.3% for men, 30.4% for women.
Seasonally adjusted labour force participation rate realized as 53.3%
The seasonally adjusted labour force increased by 722 thousand persons to 34 million 429 thousand persons in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter and the seasonally adjusted labour force participation rate was 53.3% with 0.9 percentage point increase. Labour force participation rate was estimated 71.7% for men and 35.3% for women.
Seasonally adjusted youth unemployment rate was 20.3%
Seasonally adjusted youth unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group was 20.3% with 0.4 percentage point decrease compared to the previous quarter. Unemployment rate in this age group estimated as 17.1% for men and 26.3% for women.

56.1% of seasonally adjusted employment was in the services sector
In the second quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter, the number of seasonally adjusted agricultural employment increased by 113 thousand persons, industry increased by 217 thousand persons, construction increased by 42 thousand persons and services increased by 393 thousand persons. According to the distribution of employment by sector; 16% was employed in agriculture, 22% was employed in industry, 5.9% was employed in construction and 56.1% was employed in services.
Seasonally and calendar adjusted weekly average actual working hours realized as 44.4
Seasonally and calendar adjusted average weekly actual working hours of those employed during the reference period decreased by 0.5 hours compared to the previous quarter and estimated 44.4 hours in the second quarter of 2022.
Seasonally adjusted composite measure of labour underutilization rate realized as 21.3%
The rate of composite measure of labour underutilization consisting of time-related underemployment, potential labour force and unemployment was 21.3% with decrease of 0.9 percentage points in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter. While combined rate of time-related underemployment and unemployment realized as 14.7%, combined rate of unemployment and potential labour force realized as 17.6%.
