According to the general trade system exports increased by 13.8%, imports decreased by 7.8% respectively in July 2024
According to the provisional data, produced with the cooperation of the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Trade, in July 2024; exports were 22 billion 510 million dollars with a 13.8% increase and imports were 29 billion 805 million dollars with a 7.8% decrease compared with July 2023.
Exports increased by 4.1%, imports decreased by 8.3% in January-July 2024
In January-July 2024 period, exports were 148 billion 738 million dollars with a 4.1% increase and imports were 198 billion 676 million dollars with a 8.3% decrease compared with January-July 2023.

Energy products and non-monetary gold excluded exports increased by 13.0%, imports decreased by 4.2% respectively in July 2024
Exports, excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, were 20 billion 524 million dollars with a 13.0% increase in July 2024. Imports, excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, were 23 billion 506 million dollars with a 4.2% decrease in July 2024.
Foreign trade deficit, excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, was 2 billion 982 million dollars in July 2024.
Foreign trade volume was 44 billion 30 million dollars with a 3.1% increase. Energy products and non-monetary gold excluded export coverage imports was 87.3%.

In July 2024, foreign trade deficit was 7 billion 295 million dollars with a 41.8% decrease compared with July 2023. In July 2024, exports coverage imports was 75.5%, while it was 61.2% in July 2023.

In January-July 2024 period, foreign trade deficit was 49 billion 938 million dollars with a 32.4% decrease compared with January-July 2023. In the same period, exports coverage imports was 74.9%, while it was 65.9% in January-July 2023.

In July 2024, according to economic activities, the ratios of manufacturing industries products, agriculture, forestry and fishing, mining and quarrying in total exports were 94.5%, 2.8%, 2.1%, respectively.
In January-July 2024 period, according to economic activities, the ratios of manufacturing industries products, agriculture, forestry and fishing, mining and quarrying in total exports were 94.3%, 3.6%, 1.7%, respectively
The ratio of intermediate goods in total imports was 68.6% in July 2024
In July 2024, according to the BEC classification, the ratios of intermediate goods, capital goods and consumption goods in total imports were 68.6%,15.9%,15.3%, respectively.
In January-July 2024 period, according to the BEC classification, the ratios of intermediate goods, capital goods and consumption goods in total imports were 69.7%,14.8%,15.3%, respectively.

In July 2024, the main partner country for exports was Germany with 1 billion 752 million dollars. The country was followed by United Kingdom with 1 billion 604 million dollars, USA with 1 billion 441 million dollars, Iraq with 1 billion 59 million dollars and Italy with 1 billion 29 million dollars. The ratio of the first five countries in total exports was 30.6% in July 2024.
In January-July 2024 period, the main partner country for exports was Germany with 11 billion 952 million dollars. The country was followed by USA with 9 billion 223 million dollars, United Kingdom with 8 billion 561 million dollars, Italy with 7 billion 480 million dollars and Iraq with 7 billion 284 million dollars. The ratio of the first five countries in total exports was 29.9% in January-July 2024.
The main partner for imports was China in July 2024
In July 2024, the top country for Türkiye’s imports was China with 4 billion 155 million dollars. The country was followed by Russia with 3 billion 773 million dollars, Germany with 2 billion 535 million dollars, Italy with 1 billion 407 million dollars, USA with 1 billion 400 million dollars. The ratio of first five countries in total imports was 44.5% in July 2024.
In January-July 2024 period, the top country for Türkiye’s imports was Russia with 25 billion 814 million dollars. The country was followed by China with 25 billion 435 million dollars, Germany with 15 billion 301 million dollars, Italy with 11 billion 83 million dollars, USA with 9 billion 535 million dollars. The ratio of first five countries in total imports was 43.9% in January-July 2024.

In July 2024, while seasonally and calendar adjusted exports increased by 3.0%, imports decreased by 3.9% compared with previous month. In July 2024, while calendar adjusted exports increased by 6.8%, imports decreased by 12.7% compared with July 2023.

Foreign trade by technology intensity covers the manufacturing industries’ products in classification of ISIC Rev.4. According to the ISIC Rev.4, the ratio of manufacturing industries products in total exports was 94.5% in July 2024.The ratio of high-technology products in manufacturing industries exports was 2.8%. The ratio of manufacturing industries products in total exports was 94.3% in January-July 2024. In January-July 2024 period, the ratio of high-technology products in manufacturing industries exports was 3.4%.
The ratio of manufacturing industries products in total imports was 83.0%. The ratio of high-technology products in manufacturing industries’ imports was 11.5% in July 2024. The ratio of manufacturing industries’ products in total imports was 81.1% in January-July 2024. The ratio of high-technology products in manufacturing industries’ imports was 11.0% in January-July 2024.

According to the special trade system, in July 2024, exports were 20 billion 405 million dollars with a 14.0% increase and imports were 27 billion 142 million dollars with a 8.6% decrease compared with July 2023.
In July 2024 foreign trade deficit was 6 billion 737 million dollars with a 42.9% decrease compared with July 2023.
Exports coverage imports was 75.2%, while it was 60.3% in July 2023.

According to the special trade system, exports were 134 billion 564 million dollars with a 3.4% increase and imports were 184 billion 525 million dollars with a 9.0% decrease compared with January-July 2023.
In January-July 2024 period, foreign trade deficit was 49 billion 961 million dollars with a 31.2% decrease compared with January-July 2023.
Exports coverage imports was 72.9%, while it was 64.2% in January-July 2023.
