The Turkish Ministry of Trade Conducts Export Analysis by Country Groups
EXPORT DEVELOPMENTS ACCORDING TO GEOGRAPHICAL COUNTRY GROUPS
The upward trend in exports to all parts of the world continues. As the Ministry of Trade, we are resolutely continuing our efforts to sustain the ongoing increase in exports across the globe, within the framework of our export-based economic policies.
In the geographical country groups, during the period from January to August 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year:
- Exports to European countries increased by 2.5% (an increase of $2.3 billion) to reach $97.2 billion.
- Exports to Asian countries increased by 10.8% (an increase of $1.3 billion) to reach $13.5 billion.
- Exports to Near and Middle Eastern countries increased by 3.6% (an increase of $991 million) to reach $27.7 billion.
- Exports to North American countries increased by 8.3% (an increase of $888 million) to reach $11.7 billion.
- Exports to South American countries increased by 18.1% (an increase of $301 million) to reach $2.0 billion.
- Exports to Central America and the Caribbean increased by 10.1% (an increase of $173 million) to reach $1.9 billion.
- Exports to African countries increased by 3.6% (an increase of $478 million) to reach $13.8 billion.
- Exports to Australia and New Zealand increased by 26.0% (an increase of $171 million) to reach $0.8 billion.
EXPORT DEVELOPMENTS BY SELECTED COUNTRY GROUPS
Our annualized exports to major market groups are trending upwards and have reached record levels as of August.
During the period from January to August 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year:
- Exports to Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries increased by 12.3% (an increase of $4.9 billion) to reach $45.1 billion.
- Exports to countries with Free Trade Agreements (FTA) increased by 14.1% (an increase of $3.1 billion) to reach $25.1 billion.
- Exports to European Union (EU 27) countries increased by 3.4% (an increase of $2.4 billion) to reach $71.3 billion.
- Exports to neighboring countries increased by 10.8% (an increase of $2.1 billion) to reach $22.0 billion.
- Exports to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries increased by 29.2% (an increase of $2.1 billion) to reach $9.4 billion.
- Exports to Organization of Turkic States (OTS) countries increased by 11.8% (an increase of $741 million) to reach $7.0 billion, reaching the highest export values recorded during this period.
As a result, exports to all these country groups have reached record levels on an annualized basis as of August.
