According to the customs office, France’s trade deficit decreased in June to its lowest level in over two years.

The trade deficit in June was EUR 6.7 billion, the smallest amount since August 2021. The deficit decreased from 7.94 billion euros in May. The deficit for the same time frame last year was EUR 14.5 billion.

The trade imbalance was expected to increase to EUR 8 billion in June, according to economists.

According to the data, imports fell by 3.2 percent from May while exports fell by 1.3 percent. In June, exports increased 6.3 percent year over year while imports decreased 3.8 percent.
