As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index increased by 0.6% in October. In the same month, compared to October 2019, while the index for food, beverages and tobacco, and fuels decreased by 0.5% and 36.9%, respectively, the index for crude materials (except fuels) and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 2.4% and 1.7%, respectively.
The overall export volume index increased by 4.5%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 4.5% in October. Compared with October 2019, while the index for manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 6.0%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels) and fuels decreased by 3.0%, 8.2% and 28.4%, respectively.

The overall import unit value index decreased by 3.0%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index decreased by 3.0% in October. While the index for food, beverages and tobacco, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 5.0% and 4.0%, respectively, the index for crude materials (except fuels) and fuels decreased by 0.2% and 32.0%, respectively.
The overall import volume index increased by 10.4%
In October, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 10.4%. While the index for food, beverages and tobacco, and fuels decreased by 16.4% and 2.9%, respectively, the index for crude materials (except fuels) and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 20.2% and 14.6%, respectively.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index increased by 1.6%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 168.5 in September 2020, increased by 1.6%, to 171.2 in October 2020. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 175.9 in October 2019, increased by 4.5%, to 183.9 in October 2020.
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 1.2%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 146.2 in September 2020, decreased by 1.2%, to 144.4 in October 2020. The calendar adjusted import volume index which was 127.3 in October 2019, increased by 12.9%, to 143.7 in October 2020.

Terms of trade was 107.5 in October 2020
Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade was 103.7 in October 2019, it increased by 3.8 points to 107.5 in October 2020.
