Association of Construction Material Producers of Türkiye (IMSAD), the umbrella organization of the construction materials industry, announced the July results of the Monthly Sector Report. In the report, the construction materials industry production increased by 4.4 percent in the first quarter of 2022, the production increase was 0.1 percent due to energy cuts in January, increased rapidly to 8.3 percent in February and decreased to 4.8 percent in March. It was reminded that in April, the first month of the second quarter, it was 2.8 percent. The report included the following findings:

Industrial production of construction materials continued to decelerate, increasing by only 0.5 percent in May compared to May of last year. Due to the decrease in the number of working days due to the public holidays in May, there was a slowdown in the increase in production. Thus, in the first five months of the year, production increased by 3.5 percent compared to the first five months of the previous year. While domestic demand for construction materials weakened in May, signs of slowdown began to appear in foreign demand.

In 2022, while production increases in some sub-sectors, there were decreases in production in some sub-sectors. In the first five months of the year, production in 12 sub-sectors increased compared to the previous year, while production decreased in 10 sub-sectors.
