According to the labor ministry, Spain’s jobless rate dropped for the fifth straight month in July, reaching its lowest level since 2008.

10,968 fewer people were officially unemployed than in the prior month, or 0.41 percent. According to the ministry, there were 2.68 million unemployed persons overall, the lowest number for any month since 2008.

The unemployment rate dropped by 205,938 or 7.14 percent from July 2022.

Data indicated a general decline in registered unemployment. 7,126 fewer people were unemployed in the service sector and 1,861 fewer people were unemployed in agriculture. Industry unemployment decreased by 964.

On the other side, 1,186 more people lost their jobs in the construction industry.
