Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz signed a strategic memorandum of understanding on raw materials, electric vehicles and battery production at the Strategic Raw Materials Summit in Belgrade. Vucic said the agreement is a major milestone for the country and will bring investments worth 6 billion euros. Scholz emphasized that the agreement will ensure compliance with environmental protection and biodiversity standards and expressed his support for the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the EU. EU Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic said that the agreement presents a historic opportunity for Serbia and the EU and will open the door to huge investments.
