Labour Force Statistics in Türkiye, April 2022
Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate realized as 11.3%
According to Household Labour Force Survey; the number of unemployed persons aged 15 years old and over increased by 65 thousand to 3 million 853 thousand persons in April 2022 compared to the previous month. As the unemployment rate estimated 11.3% with 0.1 percentage point increase compared to the previous month; it was estimated 9.7% for men and 14.5% for women.
Seasonally adjusted employment rate realized as 47.1%
The number of employed persons increased by 408 thousand to 30 million 371 thousand persons in April 2022 compared to the previous month. The employment rate occurred as 47.1% with 0.6 percentage point increase. In addition, this rate was 64.7% for men, 29.8% for women.
Seasonally adjusted labour force participation rate realized as 53.1%
The number of persons in the labour force realized as 34 million 225 thousand persons with 473 thousand persons increase in April 2022 compared to the previous month. Labour force participation rate was 53.1% with 0.7 percentage point increase. Also this rate was 71.6% for men, it was 34.9% for women.
Seasonally adjusted youth unemployment rate was 20.0%
The youth unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group was 20.0% with 0.8 percentage point decrease compared to the previous month. While this rate was estimated 18.1% for men and 23.7% for women.

Seasonally and calendar adjusted average weekly actual working hours was 45.1
Seasonally and calendar adjusted average weekly actual working hours of persons at work during the reference period increased by 0.2 hours and estimated 45.1 hours compared to the previous month in April 2022.

Seasonally adjusted composite measure of labour underutilization rate realized as 21.7%
In April 2022, the rate of composite measure of labour underutilization consisting of time-related underemployment, potential labour force and unemployment was 21.7% with 0.7 percentage point decrease compared to the previous month. While combined rate of time-related underemployment and unemployment realized as 14.8%, combined rate of unemployment and potential labour force estimated as 18.5%.
