Red Meat Production Statistics, Quarter I: January-March, 2019
Total red meat production was estimated as 211 435 tonnes in the 1st quarter
While red meat production decreased by 18.6% according to the previous quarter, it decreased by 16.5% when compared with the same quarter of last year. In total red meat production, the amount produced by slaughterhouses was 174 thousand 52 tonnes.
Cattle meat production was estimated as 191 thousand 287 tonnes
While cattle meat production decreased by 20.2% according to the previous quarter, it decreased by 13.7% when compared with the same quarter of last year.
Sheep meat production was estimated as 17 thousand 932 tonnes
While sheep meat production increased 0.2% according to the previous quarter, it decreased 33.7% when compared with the same quarter of last year.
