Prices and Production Values of Crop Products, 2019 in Turkey
Price of chickpea decreased by 29.04% compared to the previous year
The least increase in 2019 compared to the previous year was 20.95% in the price of lentils (red). The products with the highest increase in prices for cereals and other vegetable products compared to the previous year were wheat (other) with 25.98%, beans (dry) with 33.88% and potatoes (other) with 79.97%.
Price of tomato (table) price increased by 3.27% compared to the previous year
In 2019, eggplant prices increased by 30.92% and onions (dry) by 37.96% compared to the previous year. On the other hand, the products that showed the highest increase in vegetables group compared to the previous year were cauliflower with 42.51%, pepper (pointed) with 54.54% and garlic (dry) with 70.88%.
Price of olive (table) increased by 3.16% compared to the previous year
Among the fruits, beverages and spice plants, the products that showed the least increase in 2019 compared to the previous year were lemons with 19.49% and grapes (with table seeds) with 20.58%. The highest increase compared to the previous year were in banana with 36.55% and hazelnut with 52.26%.

Production value of cereals and other crop products increased by 24.65%
In 2019, cereals and other crop products value increased by 24.65% and reached to 77.55 billion TL compared to the previous year. Fruits, beverages and spice plants production value increased by 22.15% became 67.83 billion TL and the production value of vegetables increased by 21.87% reached to 50.45 billion TL.

EXPLANATIONS
Prices received by farmers are wholesale or retail unit prices of products which are produced or grown and directly sold by farmers. Prices are compiled according to production period. Additionally, the production value is obtained by multiplying production quantity and related unit price.
Crop product prices are compiled monthly in collaboration with the province and district office of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry via internet. Sugar beet prices are received from Presidency of Sugar Department, green tea prices are from General Directorate of Tea Companies, poppy capsule and seed prices are from Turkish Grain Board and tobacco prices are from Tobacco and Alcohol Market Regulatory Institution. Also, prices are compiled from the commodity exchange and producers unions.
