Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products, August 2020 in Turkey
Agriculture-PPI (2015=100) on the previous month increased by 0.22%, on December of the previous year increased by 9.25%, on same month of the previous year increased by 17.36% and on the twelve months moving averages basis increased by 13.74% in August 2020.
Compared to the previous month in sectors; forestry products and related services decreased by 1.54%, fishing products and other fishing products decreased by 0.24%. However, products of agriculture, hunting and related services increased by 0.27%. Regarding monthly changes by main groups; non-perennial crops decreased by 0.81%, live animals and animal products increased by 0.55% and perennial crops increased by 2.01%.

The lowest annual increase was 5.60% in poultry, live and eggs subgroup
With respect to the same month of the previous year, vegetables and melons, roots and tubers with 7.90% and oleaginous fruits with 9.59% were the other subgroups where low increases realized. On the other hand, grapes with 30.50%, pome fruits and stone fruits with 30.39% and tropical and subtropical fruits with 27.47% were the subgroups where high annual increases realized on the same month of the previous year.

The highest monthly decrease was 9.77% in other tree and bush fruits and nuts subgroup
The other subgroups that indicated decreases were vegetables and melons, roots and tubers with 6.35% and grapes with 2.75% amongst the subgroups. On the other hand, cereals (except rice), leguminous crops and oil seeds with 4.49%, other farmed animals and animal products with 2.62% and pome fruits and stone fruits with 2.23% were the subgroups where high monthly increases realized.

In August 2020, 86 items in the index; the average prices of 28 items decreased and the average prices of 8 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 50 items increased.
