The largest contribution to the growth rate of the annual index came from the division Food and non-alcoholic beverages in Croatia

The prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 0.4% on average in July 2022, as compared to June 2022. Compared to July 2021, that is, at the annual level, they increased by 12.3% on average.

Observing the main divisions of the ECOICOP classification, at the annual level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the following divisions: Transport, of 19.2%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 18.3%, Restaurants and hotels, of 16.8%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 14.1%, Recreation and culture, of 10.0%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, of 9.7%, Miscellaneous goods and services, of 7.0% and Clothing and footwear, of 5.5%.

The largest contribution to the growth rate of the annual index came from the following divisions: Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.75 percentage points), Transport (+2.83 percentage points), Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+1.64 percentage points), Restaurants and hotels (+0.84 percentage points), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (+0.80 percentage points), Recreation and culture (+0.53 percentage points), Miscellaneous goods and services (+0.43 percentage points) and Clothing and footwear (+0.32 percentage points).

Observing the selected groups, the highest increase in consumer prices at the annual level was recorded in Energy, of 20.6% (contribution to the growth of +3.46 percentage points).

At the monthly level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the divisions Restaurants and hotels, of 4.9% (contribution to the growth of +0.24 percentage points), Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 2.2% (+0.57 percentage points), Recreation and culture, of 2.0% (+0.11 percentage points), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, of 1.8% (+0.09 percentage points), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 1.3% (+0.07 percentage points), Miscellaneous goods and services, of 1.2% (+0.07 percentage points) and Transport, of 0.5% (+0.07 percentage points). The increase in prices was alleviated by a decrease in the prices of Clothing and footwear, of 14.4% (-0.84 percentage points, seasonal discount of clothing and footwear) and Communication, of 0.9% (-0.05 percentage points).
