Foreign Trade Indices in Türkiye, June 2022
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index increased by 12.0% in June. In the same month, compared to June 2021, while the index for food, beverages and tobacco decreased by 7.5%, the index for crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 18.2%, 89.5% and 11.1%, respectively.
The overall export unit value index increased by 12.4% in Quarter II 2022, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.
The overall export volume index increased by 6.0%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 6.0% in June. Compared with June 2021, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 23.5%, 18.6%, 15.3% and 3.2%, respectively.
The overall export volume index increased by 6.4% in Quarter II 2022, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The overall import unit value index increased by 34.9%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 34.9% in June. The index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 23.3%, 28.0%, 152.9% and 10.1%, respectively.
The overall import unit value index increased by 35.9% in Quarter II 2022, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.
The overall import volume index increased by 3.6%
In June, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 3.6%. While the index for fuels decreased by 12.0%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels) and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 34.7%, 0.8% and 7.9%, respectively.
The overall import volume index increased by 2.5% in Quarter II 2022, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index increased by 6.0%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 146.8 in May 2022, increased by 6.0%, to 155.6 in June 2022. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 145.4 in June 2021, increased by 6.0%, to 154.2 in June 2022.
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 2.0%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 115.3 in May 2022, decreased by 2.0%, to 113.0 in June 2022. The calendar adjusted import volume index which was 108.8 in June 2021, increased by 3.6%, to 112.7 in June 2022.

Terms of trade was 76.0 in June 2022
Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade was 91.6 in June 2021, it decreased by 15.6 points to 76.0 in June 2022.
Terms of trade decreased by 15.7 points to 75.3 in Quarter II 2022, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.
