In January-September 2023 Latvia was among 14 of 27 European Union member states in which there was a drop in exports registered when compared to the same period of 2022, according to data published by Eurostat.
In January-September of 2023, as compared to 2022, the volume of exports in Latvia went down by 8%.
More rapid export drops were observed in
ESTONIA (-15%), BELGIUM (-12%), AND LITHUANIA (-9%).
The most rapid export growth was observed in Cyprus (+14%), Malta (+9%), Slovakia (+7%) and Hungary (+5%). Export volumes in Spain remained unchanged.
Import volumes in January-September went down in 24 EU member states. The biggest drop was observed in Finland (-18%). Growth was observed in Cyprus (+13%). In Slovakia and Slovenia import volumes remained unchanged. In Latvia import volumes went down by 8%, in Lithuania – by 13% and in Estonia – by 15%.
