The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the producer’s price index for July of 2023 by (13.33%) compared with the same month of 2022 and a decrease by (1.42%) compared to the previous month of the same year. On the accumulative level, the producer’s price index decreased for the first seven months of 2023 by (4.27%) compared with the same period of 2022.
Accordingly, the producer’s price index for July of 2023 has reached 131.17 compared to 151.35 for the same month in 2022. The producer’s price index for July 2023 also has reached 131.17 compared to 133.05 for the previous month. At the accumulative level for the first seven months of 2023, the producer’s price index has reached 135.41 compared to 141.44 for the same period in 2022.
The decrease in the index for the month of July of 2023 compared to July of 2022 resulted from the decrease in “prices of Manufacturing Industries” by (14.22%) with a relative importance of 86.01%, and a decrease in the “prices of Quarrying Industries” by (12.80%), with a relative importance of 8.22%, while the “prices of Electricity” has increased by 0.21%, with a relative importance of 5.76%.
As for the monthly change, the producer’s price index for the month of July 2023 has decreased compared to the previous month as a result of the decrease in “prices of Manufacturing Industries” by (1.35%) with a relative importance of 86.01% a decrease in “prices of Quarrying Industries” by (3.02%) with a relative importance of 8.22% and a decrease in “prices of Electricity” by (0.06%) with a relative importance of 5.76%.
By comparing the accumulative index number for the first seven months of 2023 with the same period of 2022, the “prices of Manufacturing Industries” has decreased by (5.73%) with a relative importance of 86.01% and “prices of Electricity” by (5.40%) with a relative importance is 5.76%, while the “prices of Quarrying Industries” has increased by 12.61% with a relative importance of 8.22%.
