Department of Statistics: The Industrial Production Index Increased by 2.42% in March 2024 in Jordan
The Department of Statistics issued its monthly report on the Industrial Production Index which recorded an increase by 2.42% for March 2024 compared to the previous month of February
2024, and an Increase by 0.33% compared to the same month (March) 2024. On the accumulative level, the Industrial Production Index for the first three months of 2024 has increased by 1.08% compared to the same period in 2023, noting that the base year has been modified to become (2018=100) instead of (2010=100).
Accordingly, the Industrial Production Index for March 2024 has reached 86.13 against 85.85 for the same period in 2023, and 86.13 against 85.64 compared to the previous month (March)
of 2024. On the accumulative level for the first three months of 2024, the Industrial Production Index has reached 85.29 against 84.38 for the same period in 2023.
Comparing the index for March 2024 with the same month of 2023, it is noted that there was an increase in the production quantities of “Quarrying Industries” by 45.08% with a relative
importance of 5.4% and the production quantities of “Electricity” by 5.80% with a relative importance of 5.9%, while the production quantities of “Manufacturing Industries” has decreased by (2.23%) with a relative importance of 88.7%.
On a monthly basis, the Industrial Production Index for March 2024 has Increased compared to the previous month of February as a result of the Increase of the production quantities of
“Manufacturing Industries” by 0.82% with a relative importance of 88.7% and the production quantities of “Quarrying Industries” by 44.5% with a relative importance of 5.4%, while there
was a decrease in the production quantities of “Electricity” by (5.09%) with a relative importance of 5.9%.
Comparing the accumulative index for the first three months of 2024 with the same period of 2023, the production quantities of “Manufacturing Industries” have increased by 0.14% with a
relative importance of 88.7%, as well as the “Quarrying Industries” by 16.44% with a relative importance of 5.4%, and the production quantities of “Electricity” by 3.26% with a relative importance of 5.9%.
