The industrial producer price index in Austria, IPPI 2021, reached 118.9 points in June 2022, representing a price increase of 20.8 % compared to June 2021, as Statistics Austria reports. In May and April 2022, the annual rates of change had been +20.9 % and +21.6 %, respectively. Compared to May 2022, the industrial producer price index rose by 0.9 %.
The increase of the industrial producer price index in June 2022 (+20.8 %) was mainly caused by high prices in the energy sector (+51.4 %). The prices for intermediate goods went up by 18.1 % compared to June 2021. Prices for consumer goods rose by 6.9 %, those for capital goods increased by 4.4 %.
