Food prices increased by 15.8 percent in a year, according to official statistics of Serbia. Coffee, tea, and cocoa prices increased the most, by up to 24.5 percent. Fruit and vegetable prices increased by 23.7 percent between April 2021 and April 2022, followed by meat prices, which increased by nearly one-fifth, or 19.5 percent, in one year. Then came fats and oils, which saw a 17.6 percent price increase.

Statistics show that milk, cheese, and eggs increased by 12%. Fuels and lubricants for automobiles increased by 19.8 percent. Prices for personal consumer goods and services increased by an average of 1.5 percent in April 2022 compared to March 2022.

On a monthly basis, observed by the main groups of products and services classified by consumption purpose, in April 2022, compared with the previous month, there was price growth in the groups: food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.7%), clothing and footwear (2.1%), transportation (1.8%), restaurants and hotels (1.3%), recreation and cultural activities (1.2%), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (1.0%), housing equipment and current maintenance (0.9%), and health group (0.6%).
