According to official data, Spain’s industrial production fell in November for the first time in eight months.
In contrast to the 2.1 percent increase in October, industrial production decreased by an adjusted 1.1 percent on an annual basis, according to the INE statistical agency. The first decrease since March was this one.
Only capital goods, a major industry category, displayed yearly growth in November, rising 7.3 percent. Energy saw the largest decline, at 9.7%, and consumer and intermediate goods output also fell by 2.7 percent.
The annual decline in industrial output was 1.8 percent, the first decline in seven months. Production had increased by 3.6 percent in September and 2.1 percent in October.
Industrial production decreased month over month in November for the third consecutive month. After easing 0.6 percent in October, production fell by 0.7 percent.
