Milk and Milk Products, May 2020 in Turkey
The amount of collected cow’s milk in May decreased by 2% when compared to the same month of the previous year. In January-May period increased by 3.8% when compared to the same period of the previous year.
In May, the average fat rate of cow’s milk collected by integrated dairies was 3.5%, the average rate of protein was 3.3%.

In May, drinking milk production by integrated dairies increased by 14.7% and became 149 thousand 389 tonnes when compared to the same month of the previous year. In January-May period, drinking milk production increased by 12.5% and became 719 thousand 353 tonnes when compared to the same period of the previous year.
In May, yoghurt production by integrated dairies decreasing by 17% and became 82 thousand 341 tonnes when compared to the same month of the previous year. In January-May period, decreased by 2.8% and became 442 thousand 913 tonnes when compared to the same period of the previous year.
In May, while butter production increasing by 18%, skimmed milk powder production increasing by 17.1%, cream production increasing by 17% and cheese production from cow’s milk increasing by 4.5%, mixed milk cheese (cheese production obtained from which includes sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk) decreased by 1.5%, whole milk powder production decreased by 18.5% and drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production decreased by 43.5% when compared to the same month of the previous year.
