Finland’s inflation rate has increased to its highest level in almost 30 years, hitting 7.1 percent in May.

According to Statistics Finland’s most recent consumer price index, the rate of inflation has accelerated dramatically since April, when it stood at 5.7 percent.

According to the research, rising prices of electricity, gasoline, and diesel, as well as other items and services, including a substantial increase in the cost of upgrading single-family houses, contributed to the rise in inflation.

The data also revealed that the average price of gasoline was 2.21 euros per litre in the first week of May, but had jumped to 2.53 euros by the end of the month, while the price of a litre of diesel went from 2.24 euros to 2.34 euros.
