The S&P Global Spain Manufacturing PMI decreased from 53.8 to 52.6 in June 2022, but it still performed better than expected (52.1). The manufacturing sector in Spain grew for the 17th month in a straight, although at its weakest rate in almost two years. The rate of output growth slowed, continuing the pattern of deceleration, while new orders decreased somewhat for the second time in a row. Due to the difficult economic conditions that are pressing both the domestic and international markets, businesses noted decreasing demand. Demand was heavily impacted by pricing as well, with producer prices continuing to rise but at a slower rate than last month due to increased energy and raw material costs. Employment, meanwhile, was projected to be somewhat higher. Future-oriented business optimism increased from MayFactory activity in Spain grows less than anticipated as manufacturers anticipate increased revenues in a post-pandemic climate.
