STEEL PRODUCTION IN TÜRKİYE

In April 2022, Türkiye’s crude steel production amounted to 3.4 million tons with an increase of 1.6% compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first 4 months of the year, production decreased by 3,2% to 12.8 million tons.

STEEL CONSUMPTION IN TÜRKİYE

Final steel consumption in April was 3 million tons with a decrease of 1.2% compared to the same month of 2021, and 11.5 million tons with a decrease of 5.1% in the first four months of the year.

FOREIGN TRADE

Export

In April, exports of steel products amounted to 1.4 million tons with a decrease of 12.1% in quantity, and 1.4 billion dollars in value, with an increase of 18.1%.

In the January-April period, compared to the same period of 2021, exports amounted to 5.7 million tons with a 0.5% decrease in quantity and 5.4 billion dollars with an increase of 39.3% in value.

Imports

Compared to the same month of 2021, April imports amounted to 1.3 million tons with a decrease of 17.9% in terms of quantity, and rose to 1.4 billion dollars with an increase of 11.2% in terms of value.

In the first four months of 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year, imports amounted to 5.3 million tons with a decrease of 4.7% in terms of quantity and $5.7 billion in terms of value, with an increase of 35.7%.
