Labour Input Indices, Quarter II: April-June, 2018
Seasonally and calendar adjusted employment index decreased by 1.9% compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector decreased by 0.5%, construction sector decreased by 1.6% and trade-services sector decreased by 2.7%.
Hours worked index remained the same
Calendar adjusted hours worked index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors remained the same in the second quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 1.1%, construction sector decreased by 0.6% and trade-services sector decreased by 0.5%.
Seasonally and calendar adjusted hours worked index decreased by 2.1% compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector decreased by 1.0%, construction sector decreased by 2.2% and trade-services sector decreased by 2.6%.
Gross wages-salaries index increased by 15.7%
Calendar adjusted gross wages-salaries index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 15.7% in the second quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 19.1%, construction sector increased by 18.5% and trade-services sector increased by 13.1%.
Seasonally and calendar adjusted hours worked index increased by 2.9% compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 3.4%, construction sector increased by 2.2% and trade-services sector increased by 2.7%.

Hourly labour cost index increased by 15.8%
Calendar adjusted hourly labour cost index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 15.8% in the second quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 17.8%, construction sector increased by 19.6% and trade-services sector increased by 13.7%.
Seasonally and calendar adjusted hourly labour cost index increased by 4.8% compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 4.5%, construction sector increased by 4.6% and trade-services sector increased by 5.0%.
Hourly earnings index increased by 15.7%
Calendar adjusted hourly earnings index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 15.7% in the second quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 17.8%, construction sector increased by 19.2% and trade-services sector increased by 13.6%.
Seasonally and calendar adjusted hourly earnings index increased by 5.1% compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 4.5%, construction sector increased by 4.6% and trade-services sector increased by 5.4%.
Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index increased by 16.2%
Calendar adjusted hourly labour cost excluding earnings index including industry, construction, trade and services sectors increased by 16.2% in the second quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 17.9%, construction sector increased by 21.6% and trade-services sector increased by 14.0%.
Seasonally and calendar adjusted hourly labour cost excluding earnings index increased by 3.7% compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 4.9%, construction sector increased by 4.7% and trade-services sector increased by 2.7%.

EXPLANATIONS
Calendar effect has not been observed in employment and gross wages-salaries index. Therefore. unadjusted series are used instead of calendar adjusted series.
The recruitment of personnel working in sub-contractors in public institutions excludes the employment size from the index in the second quarter.
