Prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by consumer price index, in April 2023, as compared to March 2023, increased by 0.2% on average. Consumer prices in April 2023, as compared to April 2022, increased by 8.6% on average. This was influenced mostly by increase in prices of: garments; vegetables; shoes and other footwear; meat; actual rentals paid by tenants and other actual rentals; accommodation services; passenger transport by air; fruit. Consumer prices in period January-April 2023 compared to the same period of previous year, were higher for 12.5% in average.
Observing the main groups by purpose of consumption, in April 2023 as compared to March 2023, monthly increase of prices was noticed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (4.2%); Recreation and culture (0.8%); Restaurants and hotels (0.7%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.4%), while decrease of prices was recorded in the following groups: Health (-1.7%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-1.3%); Transport (-0.9%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.9%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-0.4%); Communication (-0.1%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (-0.1%).
Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
