China plans to develop an innovation system for humanoid robots by 2025, with breakthroughs in numerous critical technologies such as “brain, cerebellum, and limbs” to assure the safe and effective supply of basic components, according to a directive issued by the country’s top industry regulator.
In the guideline on the development of humanoid robots, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that by 2025, it aims to cultivate two to three globally influential ecological enterprises, a group of specialized small and medium-sized enterprises, and two to three industrial development clusters.
The ministry also hopes to develop machine items that are internationally sophisticated and ready for mass manufacturing by 2025.
