In the first three months of 2018 compared with the previous year, number of buildings, floor area of buildings, value of buildings and number of dwelling units decreased by 23.5%, 32.9%, 19.8% and 41.9% respectively according to the Construction Permits given by municipalities to the buildings.
Buildings given Construction Permits in the total of January-March 2018;
Total floor area of buildings realized as 30.8 million m2 and 15.3 million m2 of it realized as residential building, 10 million m2 of it realized as non residential building and 5.5 million m2 of it realized as common used area.
According to the use of building, two and more dwelling residential buildings had the highest share with 19.9 million m2. It was followed by public entertainment, education, hospital or institutional care buildings with 2.9 million m2.
According to the type of investor, private sector had the highest share with 23 million m2. It was followed by public sector with 7.5 million m2 and construction cooperatives with 0.4 million m2respectively. According to the number of dwelling units, from total 135 thousand 521 dwellings, 119 thousand 195 of it was taken by private sector, 15 thousand 36 of it was taken by public sector and a thousand 290 of it was taken by construction cooperatives.
According to the provinces, İstanbul had the highest share with 3.8 million m2. It was followed by Ankara with 1.8 million m2 and Antalya with 1.5 million m2 respectively. The provinces which had the lowest floor area were Bayburt, Tunceli and Muş respectively.
According to the dwelling units, İstanbul had the highest share with 19 thousand 114 dwelling units. It was followed by Kocaeli with 7 thousand 199 dwelling units and İzmir with 7 thousand 96 dwelling units respectively. The provinces which had the lowest dwelling units were Muş, Bayburt and Tunceli respectively.

In the first three months of 2018 compared with the previous year, while floor area of building decreased by 0.5%, number of buildings, value of buildings and number of dwelling units increased by 3.4%, 21.7%, 2.4% respectively according to the Occupancy Permits given by municipalities to the buildings.

Total floor area of buildings realized as 39.5 million m2 and 22.7 million m2 of it realized as residential building, 8.9 million m2 of it realized as non residential building and 7.8 million m2 of it realized as common used area.
According to the use of building, two and more dwelling residential buildings had the highest share with 29.8 million m2. It was followed by public entertainment, education, hospital or institutional care buildings with 2.1 million m2.
According to the type of investor, private sector had the highest share with 33.3 million m2. It was followed by public sector with 5.4 million m2 and construction cooperatives with 0.7 million m2 respectively. According to the number of dwelling units, from total 200 thousand 474 dwellings, 180 thousand 511 of it was taken by private sector, 16 thousand 531 of it was taken by public sector and 3 thousand 432 of it was taken by construction cooperatives.
According to the provinces, İstanbul had the highest share with 6.6 million m2. It was followed by Ankara with 4.1 million m2 and İzmir with 2.2 million m2 respectively. The provinces which had the lowest floor area were Şırnak, Ardahan and Tunceli, respectively.
According to the dwelling units, İstanbul had the highest share with 35 thousand 574 dwelling units. It was followed by Ankara with 16 thousand 827 dwelling units and İzmir with 13 thousand 360 dwelling units respectively. The provinces which had the lowest dwelling units were Şırnak, Ardahan and Batman, respectively.
