Consumer price index of Belgium – September 2024
- Inflation in September goes from 2.86% to 3.06%.
- The consumer price index this month decreases by 0.66 points or 0.50%.
- Inflation based on the health index has increased from 3.20% to 3.83%.
- The smoothed health index stood at 129.88 points in September.
- Core inflation, which does not take into account price evolutions of energy products and unprocessed food, stands at 2.80% in September, compared to 2.73% in August.
- The main price increases in September concerned electricity, natural gas, travels abroad and city trips, clothing and tobacco. However, plane tickets, motor fuels, hotel rooms, domestic heating oil, domestic trips, non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, cleaning and maintenance products, confectionery and meat had a decreasing effect on the index.
