According to Statistics Finland, the working day adjusted turnover of construction enterprises decreased by 4.0 per cent in August 2023 compared to the previous year. The volume of sales, from which the impact of price changes has been eliminated, went down by 5.5 per cent. The decline in construction was most affected by the weak development of turnover and sales volume in building construction.

In August 2023, working day adjusted turnover in construction of buildings fell by 9.1 per cent and sales volume by 11.3 per cent compared to one year ago. In turn, working day adjusted turnover in civil engineering decreased by 2.5 per cent and sales volume by 5.6 per cent from the previous year. Turnover in specialised construction activities grew by 0.7 per cent but sales volume went down by 1.6 per cent from one year ago.

Seasonally adjusted turnover in construction increased slightly compared to July

Seasonally adjusted turnover in construction increased by 0.1 per cent in August 2023 compared to July. Seasonally adjusted sales volume grew by 0.1 per cent from July.
