In the first quarter 2023, Producer Price Index reached 129.5 compared to 2020 in Albania. Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the Producer Price Index increased by 9.4 %, a year ago this change was 17.0 %. Producer Price Index in the first quarter 2023 increased by 1.5 % compared with fourth quarter 2022
Annual change: Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the largest price increase of 18.3 % is observed in the “Electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioned” section, followed by the “Mining and quarrying” section with 13.0 % and “Manufacturing Industry” section by 7.0 %. Within this section, the largest increase in prices is observed in the activity “Paper printing and regrouping of recorded media” by 25.4 %, followed by the activities “Manufacturing of woods and products of wood and oak, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and reed” by 15.1%, “Manufacture of non-metallic mineral products” with 13.2 %, “Other transport equipment” by 1.4 %, etc. On the other hand, the biggest decrease in prices is observed in the activity “Manufacture of transport vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers” with 4.0%, followed by the activity “Manufacture of coke and petroleum products refinery” with 2.8 %.
