Trade turnover grew 4.0% – June 2024 in Portugal
The trade turnover index presented a year-on-year rate of change of 4.0% in June, down by 0.2 percentage points from the rate observed in May 2024. Retail sales increased by 3.4% (3.1% in May), while wholesale trade increased by 5.1% (3.8% in the previous month).
In the 2nd quarter of 2024, the year-on-year rate of change was 3.8% (1.4 in the 1st quarter).
The year-on-year rates of change of the indices of employment, wages and salaries and hours worked adjusted for calendar effects stood at 0.8%, 7.4% and -1.6% (1.7%, 7.8% and -0.1% in the previous month), respectively.
