- In April 2024, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.4%, up from a revised rate of 4.1% in March 2024. On an annual basis, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 4.4% in April 2024 from 4.1% in April 2023
- Breaking down the results, the Monthly Unemployment rate in April 2024 was 4.1% for males, up from the revised rate of 3.9% in March 2024 and down from 4.3% in April 2023.
- The Monthly Unemployment rate in April 2024 rose to 4.7% for females from the revised rate of 4.3% in March 2024, and up from a revised rate of 3.9% in April 2023.
- In terms of age, the Monthly Unemployment rate for people aged 15-24 years (youth unemployment rate) increased to 10.6%, from a revised rate of 9.2% in March 2024.
- The Monthly Unemployment rate for people aged 25-74 years increased from a revised rate of 3.4% in March 2024 to 3.5% in April 2024.
