In February 2024, Norway’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 3.6% from a 2-1/2-year high of 4.5% in the preceding month. From a month earlier, there were 25,000 fewer unemployed people, totaling 109 thousand. At the same time, there were 14,000 more people working, totaling 2.885 million. In February, the labor force participation rate decreased from 72.9% in January to 72.5%. Meanwhile, the number of job seekers between the ages of 15 and 24 is measured by the youth unemployment rate, which decreased to 10.8% from an upwardly revised 12.4% in the previous month.
