Moldova’s industrial output increased for the second month in a row; by 1,5%

Industrial activity in January-September 2023

National Statistics Office of Moldova informs:

• in September 2023 compared to September 2022 industrial production (gross series) increased by 1,5%

• in January-September 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year industrial production (gross series) decreased by 5,4%.

The increase in production (gross series) in September 2023 compared to September 2022 (by 1,5%) was caused by increases in extractive industry (+0,3%) and increase in the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (+30,1%, generating an increase in total industry production by 2,2%).

At the same time, there was a decrease in manufacturing (-0,7%), attenuating the increase in total industry output by 0,7% respectively.
