In September 2023, Norway’s industrial output declined 1.3% month on month, following a 1.5% increase the previous month. Most components saw a decrease in output: refined petroleum, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals (-5.8% vs 3.1% in August), wood & wood products (-2.9% vs 4%), machinery & equipment (-2.7% vs 5.7%), transport equipment n.e.c. (-1.8% vs 3.6%), computer & electrical equipment (-1.5% vs 4.5%), furniture & manufacturing n.e.c. (-1.3% vs 1.7%), Meanwhile, textiles, wearing apparel, and leather (1.1% vs -5.4%), paper & paper products (1.1% vs -2.8%), machinery repair and installation (0.2% vs -2.4%), and rubber, plastic, and mineral (0.1% vs -1.7%) recovered. On a yearly basis, manufacturing output declined 1.5%, after rising 1.4% in August
