Greece’s trade deficit decreased from EUR 3 billion in August 2022 to EUR 2.7 billion in August 2023. Exports decreased by 24.5% year over year to EUR 3.4 billion, with both EU (-26.3%) and non-EU nations (-22.1%) dispatches contributing to the decline. As a result of arrivals from non-EU countries (-32%), imports decreased by 17.8% from a year earlier to EUR 6.4 billion, while arrivals from EU nations climbed by 5.8%. The trade deficit reduced from EUR 24.17 billion in the same time last year to EUR 20.11 billion in the first eight months of this year.
