Labour Force Statistics in Türkiye, July 2023
Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate realized as 9.4%
According to Household Labour Force Survey; the number of unemployed persons aged 15 years old and over decreased by 38 thousand to 3 million 291 thousand persons in July 2023 compared to the previous month. As the unemployment rate estimated 9.4% with 0.2 percentage point decrease compared to the previous month; it was estimated 7.6% for men and 12.9% for women.
Seasonally adjusted employment rate realized as 48.4%
The number of employed persons increased by 318 thousand to 31 million 671 thousand persons in July 2023 compared to the previous month. The employment rate occurred as 48.4% with 0.5 percentage point increase. In addition, this rate was 65.7% for men, 31.5% for women.
Seasonally adjusted labour force participation rate realized as 53.4%
The number of persons in the labour force realized as 34 million 962 thousand persons with 280 thousand persons increase in July 2023 compared to the previous month. Labour force participation rate was 53.4% with 0.4 percentage point increase. Also this rate was 71.1% for men, it was 36.1% for women.
Seasonally adjusted youth unemployment rate was 18.0%
The youth unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group was 18.0% with 0.3 percentage point decrease compared to the previous month. While this rate was estimated 15.2% for men and 23.1% for women.

Seasonally and calendar adjusted average weekly actual working hours was 44.5
Seasonally and calendar adjusted average weekly actual working hours of persons at work during the reference period estimated 44.5 hours with 0.2 hours decrease compared to the previous month in July 2023.

Seasonally adjusted composite measure of labour underutilization rate realized as 22.7%
In July 2023, the rate of composite measure of labour underutilization consisting of time-related underemployment, potential labour force and unemployment was 22.7% with 1.5 percentage point decrease compared to the previous month. While combined rate of time-related underemployment and unemployment realized as 14.8%, combined rate of unemployment and potential labour force estimated as 17.8%.
