June witnessed the Czech Republic’s fifth consecutive month of industrial production growth, propelled by robust manufacturing, according to data from the Czech Statistical Office.

A distinct shift in foreign trade balance emerged in June, transitioning from a deficit to a surplus, with exports surging and imports declining.

While industrial production rose by 0.9% YoY in June, the pace was slightly slower than May’s 1.4% upturn.

Manufacturing displayed a 3.2% annual growth in June, a slight dip from the 3.5% increase observed in May.

In contrast, mining and quarrying nosedived by 29.7%, and electricity, gas, and other utilities dropped by 19.2%.

Construction, however, marked a 1.0% yearly and 2.5% monthly advance in June.

Separately, the Czech Statistical Office revealed that the trade balance shifted from a CZK 15.2 billion deficit in June last year to a CZK 14.2 billion surplus this June.

Exports exhibited a 1.1% annual rise, while imports plummeted by 7.2%.

Monthly figures showed exports and imports increasing by 0.7% and 0.4%, respectively, after seasonal adjustments.
