The Consumer Price Index (CPI) indicator in Romania for determining inflation at national level:

▪ The consumer price index in May 2023 compared to April 2023 is 100.64%.
▪ The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (May 2023 compared to December 2022) is 3.8%.
▪ The annual inflation rate in May 2023 compared to May 2022 is 10.6%.
▪ The average rate of change in consumer prices over the last 12 months (June 2022-May 2023) as compared to the previous 12 months (June 2021-May 2022) is 14.7%.

2. The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) – indicator for determining inflation across the EU

▪ The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices in May 2023 compared to April 2023 is 100.49%.
▪ The HICP-based annual inflation rate in May 2023 compared to May 2022 is 9.6%.
▪ The HICP-based average rate of change in consumer prices over the last 12 months (June 2022-May 2023) as compared to the previous 12 months (June 2021-May 2022) is 12.8%.
