Exports (EUR 3.9 billion) compared to previous April:

  • Value down by 5.8%.
  • For the first time since September 2018, exports to EU non-member countries went down, namely by 4.4%.
  • To EU non-member countries, without operations involving processing, it amounted to EUR 790 million and was higher in value by 4.5%.

Imports (EUR 4.1 billion) compared to previous April:

  • Value down by 12.6%.
  • As with exports, the value of imports from EU non-member countries also went down, namely by 8.9%.
  • From EU non-member countries, without operations involving processing, it amounted to EUR 764 million and was lower in value by 7.0%.

Trade in goods with EU-27 Member States went down

In April, both values of trade in goods with EU Member States went down, exports by 6.7% and imports by 15.2% compared to previous April.

In this month, Slovenia exported the largest share of goods to Germany (24% of total exports to EU-27), followed by Croatia (14%), Italy (13%) and Austria (10.0%). Slovenia imported the largest share of goods from Germany (21% of total imports from EU-27), followed by Italy (17%), Austria (13%) and Croatia (8%).

External trade in the first four months larger

In the first four months, exports amounted to EUR 18.2 billion and imports to EUR 18.6 billion, which was 18.2% and 5.2% more than in the same period of last year. The export-import ratio was 97.9%.
