The overall export volume index decreased by 10.5%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year decreased by 10.5% in February. Compared with February 2022, while the index for fuels increased by 15.8%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels) and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) decreased by 18.5%, 11.5% and 11.5%, respectively.

The overall import unit value index decreased by 8.2%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index decreased by 8.2% in February. The index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) decreased by 0.2%, 10.9%, 25.5% and 2.3%, respectively.
The overall import volume index increased by 20.0%
In February, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 20.0%. While the index for crude materials (except fuels) decreased by 20.5%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 30.0%, 16.6% and 6.5%, respectively.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index decreased by 11.3%
The methodological application of the seasonal and calendar adjustment of the economic data was made because of the earthquake disaster. In the ‘Metadata’ section, the model table under the ‘Seasonal Adjustment’ heading contains details regarding the methodological application.
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 149.1 in January 2023, decreased by 11.3%, to 132.3 in February 2023. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 140.9 in February 2022, decreased by 10.5%, to 126.1 in February 2023.
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 0.8%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 134.0 in January 2023, decreased by 0.8%, to 132.9 in February 2023. The calendar adjusted import volume index which was 104.2 in February 2022, increased by 20.0%, to 125.0 in February 2023.

Terms of trade was 84.9 in February 2023
Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade was 74.5 in February 2022, it increased by 10.4 points to 84.9 in February 2023.
