Domestic Producer Price Index in Türkiye, March 2023

Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 62.45% on annual basis, by 0.44% on monthly basis

D-PPI (2003=100) increased by 0.44% on monthly basis, by 6.25% on December of the previous year basis, by 62.45% on same month of the previous year basis and by 113.73% on the twelve months moving averages basis in March 2023.

Manufacturing  increased by 55.19% annually

D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 80.42% for mining and stone quarrying, by 55.19% for manufacturing, by 95.46% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, by 95.48% for water supply, annually.

The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 46.96% for intermediate goods, by 54.84% for durable consumer goods, by 85.23% for non-durable consumer goods, by 79.99% for energy, by 51.86% for capital goods, annually.

Manufacturing  increased by 2.02% monthly

D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 1.48% for mining and stone quarrying, increased by 2.02% for manufacturing, decreased by 13.28% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, increased by 2.62% for water supply, monthly.

The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 1.86% for intermediate goods, increased by 2.03% for durable consumer goods, increased by 4.24% for non-durable consumer goods, decreased by 9.32% for energy, increased by 1.28% for capital goods, monthly.

Compared to general D-PPI, lower annual change observed in 17  subdivisions while 12 subdivisions were higher

The lowest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for coke and refined petroleum products by 1.99%, for basic metals by 19.04%, for metal ores by 30.93%. On the other hand the highest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for other mining and quarrying products by 127.88%, for beverages by 122.07%, for other non-metallic mineral products by 103.85%.

Compared to general D-PPI, lower monthly change observed in  9 subdivisions while 20 subdivisions were higher

The highest rates of monthly decrease in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 13.28%, for coke and refined petroleum products by 4.75%, for crude petroleum and natural gas by 0.68%. On the other hand the highest rates of monthly increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for food products by 4.64%, for fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 4.12%, for wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture by 3.78%.
