Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoan, vice chairman of the board for the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union (DKB), reported that in just 10 months, tea from the nation was exported to 76 different nations, autonomous regions, and free zones.

According to Gürdoan, 661 tons of tea were shipped between January and February 2023, generating $3,274 000 872 in revenue.

Gürdoan went on to say that tea exports brought in 3 million 40 thousand 290 dollars during the same time span the previous year:

“When compared to the same time last year, the value of our tea exports grew by 8%. The three nations with the greatest tea exports were Belgium, the UK, and the TRNC. 1 million 149 thousand 846 were sent to Belgium during this time, along with 397 thousand 463 to the UK and TRNC. Tea worth 368 000 934 dollars was shipped to Turkey.

He said that during this time, tea was exported to Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Denmark, Moldova, Slovakia, Romania, Italy, Norway, Guinea, Kenya, Panama, Indonesia, Lithuania, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Rwanda, noting that the diversity of nations grew at the same time as exports increased.

Noting that tea exports started the year well, Gürdoğan added that he believes that the export of the said product will continue its increasing trend.
