In February 2023, the national consumer price index in Luxembourg, calculated by STATEC, rose by 1.7% compared to the previous month. If the effect of the return of sales is neutralised, the index increases by 0.7% compared to the previous month. This movement is mainly explained by an increase in food prices.

In February, the monthly change in the general index was mainly due to the upward impact of the divisions affected by the winter sales in January, namely “Clothing and footwear” (+13.5% compared to January), “Recreation and culture” (+2.7%) and “Furniture, household goods and routine household maintenance” (+2.5%).
