The majority of them, 1,881,507, worked for corporations, while 404,988 were freelancers or small-business owners and their staff.

Additionally, 55,749 individual farmers were registered. There were 2,310,035 people employed in total in 2022, an increase of 1.6 percent from the year before.

While the number of employees at large enterprises climbed by 2.2 percent, that of small businesses only increased by 0.3 percent. Individual farmers decreased by 7.2% between 2021 and 2022.

When compared to the same period in 2021, the number of employees climbed by 53,936 (or 2.4 percent) in the final three months of last year. At the end of the year, there were 33,289 more employees than there were during the quarter from July to October, an increase of 1.4 percent. Only 1%, or 5,813, more workers, were employed in the public sector in the previous year.

2,590 of them work in state administration, while 1,793 provide health and social services.

In state public firms, employment grew by 458 last year, but only by 156 in local public enterprises.

155,360 people were employed in healthcare and social services, and 148,720 in education and culture.
