According to the findings of a survey done by international consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, Romanian CEOs are more optimistic about their country’s economy than the world economy, with 62% forecasting a local slowdown and 75% anticipating a global drop (PwC).
According to a Tuesday press release from PwC, the majority of Romanian CEOs (75%) anticipate a decline in the world economy in 2023.
The response displays the executives’ most negative outlook in the previous 12 years.
73% of business executives anticipate a decline in the global economy. Comparing this year’s survey to the prior two reveals a perceived shift. Business executives thought that the global economy would have faster growth in 2021 and 2022, respectively, 76% and 77%.
Less than the study average of 40%, 27% of Romanian CEOs think that if current trends continue, their companies won’t be economically viable in ten years.
The primary danger to business development, according to Romanian CEOs, is inflation (48%), which is followed by geopolitical conflict (42%) and macroeconomic volatility (38%).
In order to conduct its 26th Annual Global CEO Survey, PwC spoke with over 4,400 CEOs.
