The number of persons in employment up by about 5,000
At the end of October 2022, there were more than 930,200 persons in employment. On a monthly basis, the number increased by 0.5%, and compared to October 2021 by 2.0%. The largest number of persons in employment was in the 40–44 age group; i.e. about 137,900 or 14.8% of all persons in employment.
Compared to the previous month, the number of men in employment increased to about 512,500 or by 0.6% (annually by 2.2%). The number of women in employment increased to about 417,800 or by 0.5% (annually by 1.8%).
The number of persons in paid employment increased on a monthly basis to about 831,300 or by 0.6% and the number of self-employed persons to about 98,900 or by 0.4%. The number of both increased also on an annual basis, namely the number of the former by 2.0% and of the latter by 2.1%.

In October 2022, the number of persons in employment on a monthly basis decreased in six and increased in fourteen activities.
The largest increase was recorded in manufacturing; i.e. to about 212,200 (or by 0.6%), of whom 67.7% were men and 32.3% were women. The largest number of persons in employment in this activity was in the age group 40-44 years.
On a monthly basis, the largest decrease in the number of persons in employment occurred in accommodation and food service activities; i.e. to about 38,100 persons or by 0.3%. The majority of persons in employment in this activity were in the age group 40-44 years.
On an annual basis, the number of persons in employment increased the most in construction (by 7,7% to more than 75,000). On the other hand, it fell the most in agriculture and hunting, forestry, fishing, to approximately 24,900 persons, or by 3.0%.
